The Pharmacology eTraining portal was made possible and supported by the following partners:
The portal is the result of a collaborative effort between EPFL Life Sciences and Technology and in Bioengineering, the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University of Lausanne and the Health Sciences e-Training (HSeT) Foundation.
It is supported financially by EPFL and the HSeT Foundation.
Intended audience
This portal is designed for students who are engaged in a Master in Pharmacology and Pharmacology provided by the EPFL Life Sciences and Technology and Bioengineering section at the School of Life Sciences.
The portal offers training material (courses, animations, case studies, annotated articles and quizzes) aimed at supporting learners' experience.
Access to the portal is password protected and restricted to students registered in one of the training programs offered by EPFL.In order to register to the portal, students must have an institutional code.
The institutional code is supplied by the HSeT foundation after registration to the programs is confirmed.
The private part of this portal supports many views or contexts, e.g.:
- A context for students registered for EPFL Master of Science in Pharmacology
- A context for teachers and organizers with access to meeting agendas and related
Protected access to each context is managed by a group specific password.
Privacy- Confidentiality
All information of whatever nature or form regarding e-mail addresses, personal and medical information is deemed to be Confidential Information between HSeT and its partners and defined as such in the partnership agreements signed between HSeT and its partners.
Intended mission of the portal
The intended mission of the portal is to provide
- organizational and teaching information to the teachers and learners in pharmacology.
- an e-learning and e-teaching content module in General Pharmacology.
- several evaluation tools (quizzes) for the students.
- several on-line teaching activities such as "article-based learning" and "case-based learning".
- a forum as a communication tool between students or between student and teachers.
The main objective of this portal is to provide scientific information. When medical/health information is provided it is meant to complement and not replace any advice or information from a health professional.
